The haystack stool is inspired by the traditional way of building roofs and buildings in the region of Victors hometown.
"I grew up in a small town in southern Germany where there are still a few houses covered with slate or wood clapboards. I was always fascinated by how you can create a large meaningful picture from the simple stringing together of the same material in the same thickness, width and shape. The haystack stool consists of all of this and yet this is not a bit alike."
The shape of the stool varies with each piece.
It consists of a substructure which does not specify a fixed form.
It is covered and reinforced with thin strips of wood. Depending on how firmly the frame is covered, different volumes are created and so is the final shape of the seat.
Each piece is handmade, unique and varies therefore in form and pattern.
